The theme this International Women’s Day is #BreakTheBias. A movement to create a world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated.
At Superior Wellness, we are very fortunate to have many inspirational women working across departments such as Logistics, Marketing, HR, Sales and the Warehouse. The incredible ladies who work at Superior Wellness are all working towards challenging gender bias within the hot tub industry daily.
The hot tub and leisure industry has historically been heavily dominated by a male workforce. At Superior Wellness we strive to challenge this. As a leader in the industry, we are proud to have females in senior leadership positions such as Head of Human Resources and Head of Marketing. Additionally, between 2020 and 2021 we saw our headcount grow from 30 to almost 70. As a result of this recruitment drive, our workforce is now already over 24% female. This number will continue to grow as we recruit across a range of departments.
To celebrate the inspiring females we have at Superior Wellness, we asked them to share with us a bit about their role at Superior Wellness and their biggest inspiration.
Abi – Finance Assistant at Superior Wellness
When did you join the business? March 2019
What is the best thing about your job? Speaking to partners and gaining a trust and friendship with them. It is such a relief to be excited to come to work in a morning!
A female who inspires you? My mum inspires me the most. No matter the situation, she’s always there to guide me and give me the best advice. She is my best friend.
Amanda – Logistics Administrator
When did you join the business? February 2020
What is the best thing about your job? Making customers happy with a delivery of their hot tub and helping my team to achieve this. I work with a bunch of amazing people who make me feel like I’m at my second home.
A female who inspires you? I was inspired by the film Working Girl (Melanie Griffiths). She worked so hard and finally got her break when she took a chance at her idea and worked her way to the top.
When did you join the business? July 2020
What is the best thing about your job? I love coming into work every day; everyone works hard; we are all passionate about the business and we have a great culture. I also have an amazing team who work well together to get the job done. I am trusted to make decisions and get on with my job so things can move much quicker.
A female who inspires you? My Mum inspires me every day. She had breast cancer during the lockdown and was so positive the whole time with a smile on her face. Whenever I face challenges, I think of how strong she was and that inspires me to keep going and remain positive. Attitude rather than aptitude wins.
Nicole – Logistics Export and Import Co-ordinator

What is the best thing about your job? The team – we are diverse and very different, but all come together support each other to help achieve our targets. That’s what makes us a great family!
A female who inspires you? Michelle Obama – she worked hard to stand at the side of her husband not behind him. She is intelligent, educated and isn’t afraid to show it.
Chloe – Marketing Executive
When did you join the business? June 2021
What is the best thing about your job? I genuinely look forward to coming to work which is so important. We have an amazing working environment at Superior Wellness, everyone is made to feel valued. I also like that we are encouraged to challenge ourselves. This is great for personal and professional development.
A female who inspires you? There’s so many! Someone I have been following closely recently is Grace Beverley. At only 22 years old she has achieved so much, including running two very successful businesses. Grace promotes successful women and how to be one. She uses her online presence to be educational, motivational and authentic. We all need and appreciate a bit of realism now and again!
Rachel – Logistics Planner

What is the best thing about your job? I work with such an amazing and dedicated team, that make every day a good day.
A female who inspires you? My nan, she is a true inspiration to me, no matter what battle she faces she picks herself up and carries on. She has guided me through life and without her I wouldn’t be the person I am today. She’s just the best!
Carol – Head of Human Resources

What is the best thing about your job? Creating a family team culture promoting health and wellness. Supporting and nurturing the team.
A female who inspires you? My late Mum. She raised and taught me how to be the woman I am today. She inspired me to support and care for others and encouraged me to follow my HR career path.

What is the best thing about your job? The Superior family! You are guaranteed a smile as soon as you walk through the door and the team will always support you.
A female who inspires you? Cassey Ho – she started her business from very little and is consistently striving to improve her business and content, whilst remaining very grounded and open about health and social issues.
