Superior Wellness recently welcomed Year 10 student Corey Claydon for a week of work experience, giving him the opportunity to gain hands-on insight across different areas of the business.
Each year, Superior Wellness is proud to support four local schools by providing multiple work experience placements across the company. The programme is designed to help young people build confidence, understand the world of work and explore the career opportunities available within a fast-growing global wellness business.
Corey, whose mum Carol Smith is Group Head of HR at Superior Wellness, spent the week working with teams across development, IT, marketing and technical support.
He spent time with the development team learning the basics of Laravel coding within the company’s CRM system, while also gaining an introduction to AI and using it to redesign a company dashboard. Corey also supported the IT team by testing old equipment, recording serial numbers and organising the information into a clear chart.
As part of the week, Corey joined Superior Wellness technician Kieran on customer visits in North Wales, Liverpool and Northwich, where he saw first-hand how hot tubs are repaired and how important exceptional customer service is.
Corey also worked with the marketing team on competitor research, social media and email campaign activity, as well as designing promotional posters for Chill Tubs.
Speaking about his experience, Corey said:
“Everyone made me feel welcome from day one and I got the chance to get involved with different teams and activities throughout the week.”
Reflecting on his favourite part, Corey added:
“My favourite part was definitely being out on the road. It was mint on the road, to be fair.”
Carol Smith, Group Head of HR at Superior Wellness, said:
“Work experience is so important for helping young people understand the opportunities available to them, build confidence and gain real insight into working life.
“I couldn’t be prouder of the support and encouragement our teams have given Corey throughout the week, and most importantly, he’s loved every minute of it.
“A huge thank you to every member of the Superior Wellness team who has taken the time to mentor, support and inspire the students attending this week. It really does make a difference.”
Founded in 2011, Superior Wellness has grown into one of the fastest-growing wellness companies globally, with a product portfolio spanning hot tubs, swim spas, mini pools, saunas, ice baths, parts and accessories.
The business continues to invest in its people, partners and future talent, while creating opportunities for the next generation to learn more about the wellness industry and the world of work.
