We have been supporting our official charity partner Fibromyalgia Action UK for 12 months. We are proud to announce that in the first year we have raised almost £5,000.
The donation of £4,968 has been through fundraising activities such as Tough Mudder plus a £5 donation per hot tub sold in our retail division for Miami Spas by Superior Wellness.
Fibromyalgia Action UK exists to increase awareness of the condition throughout the UK and elsewhere, as well as improve the awareness of, and access to treatments for fibromyalgia.
What is Fibromyalgia?
Fibromyalgia is a condition that causes pain all over the body (also referred to as widespread pain), sleep problems, fatigue, and often emotional and mental distress. People with fibromyalgia may be more sensitive to pain than people without fibromyalgia. This is called abnormal pain perception processing. The cause of fibromyalgia is not known, but it can be effectively treated and managed.
Soaking in warm water and exercise are among the many ways to reduce the intensity and frequency of fibromyalgia symptoms. Relaxing in a hot tub is a well-known way to ease muscular stiffness and soreness. Additionally, a routine soak can also help relieve stress; an intensifier of fibromyalgia symptoms.
Next fundraising event
The Superior Wellness team have set themselves another challenge this year. Twenty five team members will be undertaking the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge on Sunday 28 August.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge takes on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, usually in this order, and in under 12 hours. We are looking to raise £1,000 for Fibromyalgia Action UK.

“We really appreciate the effort, conviction, and time donated by the team at Superior Wellness. It’s an amazing amount they have raised that will help the newly diagnosed receive support that they desperately need.“
